sutter home was getting ready to celebrate their 20th anniversary of build a better burger – a challenge on the food network where at-home chefs compete to create the best burger. the additional challenge: they need to pair that burger with the perfect sutter home wine.

For its 20th anniversary, LEAP Agency took the Build a Better Burger back in time. We created a website, marketing materials and an awareness play that resembled a trip to a retro diner.

The Build a Better Burger contest was armed with three new sell sheets, providing all the details about the event’s sponsors and coupons for families to create their own great burger meals (paired with Sutter Home wines, of course) at home.


In local liquor stores and grocery stores, we worked with Sutter Home to create a display of an instant grilling destination to grab shopper’s attention.

The display was set up to show Sutter Home wine pairs great with grilling season.

With the sell sheets and sponsors for the 20th anniversary event, Sutter Home was able to offer deals with other brands that we’re necessary for a perfect grilling season.


Build a Better Burger previously produced one cookbook of amazing burger recipes to try at home. But to commemorate the 20th anniversary, we helped them produce “Burger Parties,” co-authored by James McNair and Jeffrey Starr. The latest cookbook is available at all major retailers.

The cookbook not only included specialty burgers, but also recipes for sides, drinks and desserts.


In addition to the entire rebrand, we created a mobile app that acted as a one-stop shop for the entire Build a Better Burger Campaign. The app housed the savings, coupons and connected easily to Build a Better Burger’s website and social medias.
